10 Celebrities That Call Austin, Texas Home – Variety

With rising rental prices and rising cost of living in California, some people are leaving the Golden State to look for green and cheap, pasture elsewhere in the country. According to Historical History, Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon are some of the most popular places to replace. However, the choice of many Californians is in contrast to its political (and weather-related) pole: Austin, the capital of Texas. But these are not just ordinary people who are taking action. Many celebrities are seeing the appeal of Hipster Haven – the world’s self-proclaimed live music capital – and packing remote suitcases on their way to Limi Star State.
For some showbiz people, there is no place to stay But Los Angeles. It is a rugged, coastal metropolitan city full of devotional gastronomic rentals, incredible sunsets and rich culture. And of course there are Hollywood and convenient movie studios.
For many celebrities, however, living high in the L.A. brings with it a few flaws. For big wattage names, L.A. Coming out of it often attracts the unfamiliar attention of pops or building fans. Many A-Lisers have chosen to look for a primary or second home in a place that is a little further back where they can kick off their cowboy boots without fear of being characterized by the TMZ title beast. That place, for growing celebrities, is Austin.
Despite what some Angelons might think, there is so much to love about Austin – but of course its hellish hot and humid summers look back to the past. First, housing costs are still relatively inexpensive, so buyers can get more space for their money.
Plus, Austin is no small fun to do. The city supports its healthy music scene with plenty of impressive local activities and national talent often makes it a point to add ATX to their travel schedules. Also, there are big music festivals that take place every year – coronavirus willing – like SXSW and Austin City limits. Austin is a college town for the University of Texas and the St. Edwards campus, so local politics leans to the left, aligning with the L.A. crowd. And there’s also the scene of a noisy nightlife, if anyone is so inclined. Also, Lady Bird Lake, Lake Travis and the Colorado River across the city, as well as its wide greenbelt, have plenty of things outside and countless ways to stay fit.
From a purely practical and economic point of view, living in Texas also has such benefits. If anyone wants to start cutting corners like a restaurant, Texas is the place to do it. This is a great place for small-pocketed people to venture into opening a small business.
