Dander Mifflin’s consciousness survived at the third annual iHeartardio Podcast Awards held Thursday night at the Virtual Online Awards show.
A podcast about NBC’s “The Office” hosted by Jenna Fisher and Angela Kinsey, “Office Woman”, won Best Actor at the 2021 Awards, Best Podcast Winner of the Year. “Daftar” left Airwaves about eight years ago, but endured the hugely popular franchise: it scored as the most streamed TV show of 2020 on Netflix and moved to the peacock of NBC Universal on January 1.
The “Office Woman” podcast, produced by Airwolf (a division of Stitcher, now part of SiriusXM), won the award for best ad-read podcast. Since starting in October 2019, Fisher and Kinsey have recorded (and are counting) 61 episodes. The podcast defeated nine other nominees in the Podcast of the Year category: “Bunga Banga,” “Dolly Parton’s America,” “Excellent White Parents,” “All Answers,” “Staff You Should Know,” “The Breakfast Club , “Daily,” “Happy Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos” and “Wind of Change” Change
Among the other winners of the I Heartmedia Podcast Awards was Conan O’Brien, who received the award for Best Overall Host Male, telling viewers that what sets his podcast apart from others is his “lack of professionalism”. Nicole Baier, the host of “Why Don’t You Date Me”, has accepted the overall host – Lauren Cox’s Women’s Award (whose first podcast is set to debut in February).
Hillary Clinton presented Sarah Koenig, Julie Snyder, and Neil Drumming in serial production with the Icon Audible Pioneer Award, and in partnership with Jane Stephanie P&G, presented the first Seneca Female Podcast Award, to Amerina Brown, the eloquent poet of “Amena Brown with Him.”
In addition, Questlov Bartunde presented Therson with the Icon Social Impact Award, Podcast Studio won the Quocode Icon Innovator Award, Donald Albright, co-founder of Tenderfoot TV, and Paye Lindsay.
Dan Patrick, winner of the National Great Podcast Award, presents “Frankly, My Dear”, a new film review podcast to a pair of friends who really like the movie, along with iTradio’s month-long competition content creation platform Tangalle, Siana Jacquel and Liana Holston.
Will Ferrell, appearing on iHeartRadio’s “The Ron Burgundy Podcast”, started the iHeartRadio Podcast Awards with the true Ron Burgundy form – creating his own statistics about both the award ceremony and the podcast. Obama’s other daughters on the show – Mama-Ya Afro, Ashley Holston, Sakira Ja’nai Paye and Yazmin Monet Watkins – hosted the podcast “You Down?” As well as Bowen Young and Matt Rogers, host of “Las Culturistas”.
Other nominees, presenters and special guests included Aaron Mahnke, Adam Devine, Anders Hallm, Blake Anderson, Charlemagne Tha God, Holly Frey, Jill Scott, Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant, Kyle Newcheck, Nikli Glazer and Roy Wood Jr.
The virtual awards event was recorded from multiple locations and the video was exclusively broadcast on iHeartRadio’s YouTube and Facebook pages and broadcast across iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app.
