Voting for the Oscars begins on Thursday, January 27, 2022, and ends on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Nominations for the Official Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, February 2022, through a ceremony on Sunday, March 2, 2022.

Award Category History (Best Adapted Screenplay)
The Academy Award, Better known as Oscar, The most prestigious artistic award in the Hollywood film industry. The most award-winning films in Oscar history are “Ben-Hur,” “Titanic” and “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” The most nominated films in the academy’s history are “All About Eve”, “Titanic” and “La La Land” at 14. “La La Land” is the only picture of these three that has lost the best picture. The biggest Oscars are “Losing”, meaning the most nominated and gone with zero awards, “The Turning Point” of 1977 and “The Color Purple” of 1985. Only nine writers have won the best adaptive screenplay twice – Robert Bolt, Francis Ford Coppola, Ruth Prover Jhabvala, Joseph L. Billy Wilder received the most nominations with seven, followed by John Houston with six. James Ivory is the oldest nominee and winner of all time for “Call Me by Your Name” at the age of 89, Joseph L. The most recent winner is Florian District for “The Father.”
