‘Abcdefu’ singer Gail Noah Kirel heads to Israel for Tel Aviv concert

Singer Gail, whose “abcdefu” is among the most played songs of 2022, will join Israeli pop star Noah Kirel on stage at his concert at Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park on August 24.

Both singers are signed to Atlantic Records. This will mark Gayle’s first time in Israel.

With 35,000 people expected to attend, Kirel will take to the stage before being headlined by the likes of Lady Gaga, Maroon 5 and Jennifer Lopez. This fall, Justin Bieber and One Republic are scheduled to perform at the outdoor venue.

The news follows the recent announcement that Kiril will compete for Israel in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in the UK (Ukraine won the 2022 edition, but is unable to host, as is tradition. The winner, due to ongoing war with Russia.)

On 10 August, Kirel said of his Eurovision performance: “I’m going forward with full faith. Everywhere in the world I have performed — whether in an IDF uniform or on the world’s biggest stage — I have always felt proud to represent my country.”

Kirel currently boasts three songs on Spotify’s Top 50 Israel chart, including his latest, “Panther.”

Gayle recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the release of “abcdefu,” which has approached 500 million on-demand streams in the U.S., according to Luminet data. On Friday, he premiered a new song, “indieedgycool,” from his upcoming EP, “A Study of the Human Experience Volume 2,” out Oct. 7. He is currently on tour in Europe with scheduled stops in Austria, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands before heading to Tel Aviv.
