Adele, a 15-time Grammy winner who sold more than 120 million records worldwide, held her first sit-down interview with British Vogue in five years to discuss her fourth studio album, “30”, her divorce and her inevitable return to the spotlight.
In her last one-on-one interview in 201, the star said, “I have to dress myself to be famous again, which is famous, I don’t really like to be.”
For the past five years, the “Hello” star has been raising and marrying her son Angelo, and divorced her ex-husband, Simon Koneki. Adele said the new album explains the change in her life, but eventually a letter to her 9-year-old son. “My son had a lot of questions. Really good question, really innocent question, I don’t have the answer … (like) Why can’t you still be together? … I thought I wanted to explain to him through this record, when he was in his twenties or thirties, who I was and why I had voluntarily decided to break his own life in search of my own happiness. This makes him really unhappy at times. And it’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I will ever be able to heal. ”
