Almodovar’s ‘Parallel Mothers’ will open the Miami GEMS Film Festival

Pedro Almodদেvar’s “Parallel Mothers” starring Penelope Cruz will inaugurate the Miami Film Festival GEMS. November. Denmark’s Oscar submission shortlisted candidate will “run away” to close the event.

Its eighth annual edition is being expanded to seven days from its traditional themed four-day format. The screening will take place from Nov. 10 to Nov. 10 at Miami Date College Tower Theater Miami.

“Parallel Mothers” also received the Miami Film Festival’s highest honor, the Precious Gem-Master Award, from the 38th edition of the festival earlier this year. It was played in a competition at the Venice Film Festival, where Cruz won the award for Best Actress. “King Richard”, the November screening, tells the real story of the father of tennis superstar Venus and Serena Williams. The film is directed by Rinaldo Marcus Green. The festival will end on November 10 with “Fleeing”, an animated documentary about an Afghan immigrant with secret information. It is directed by Jonas Power Rasmussen.

The initial excitement for the official opening of the festival will also be heightened by the moment Pablo Laroyan’s “Spencer”, starring Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana, decided to abandon her marriage to Prince Charles. “Spencer” will appear as GEMS Preview Night on 2nd October. Other hopefuls in the lineup include Kenneth Branagh’s “Belfast”, Eva Hussein’s “Mothering Sunday” and Shawn Baker’s “Red Rocket”. Many films are expected to be submitted for the Australian International Film Oscars.

“This year’s GEMS program showcases the ongoing vitality and vitality of cinema – we have expanded the festival because of GEMS’s fascinating outstanding films,” said executive director Jay Laplant. “We are thrilled to be backing our home theater, Tower Theater Miami, and we are thrilled to welcome sponsors to share the experience of community theater.”

Other cash prize nominees include Jacques Audiard’s “Paris, 13th District”, the 25 25,000 Marimbus Award, Claudia Huiakimillar’s “My Brothers Dream Awake”, the Ibero-American Feature Film Trophy, and the একটি 10,000 Night Med In MIA Short Film Award.
