Amazon’s Wondery, Novel Unveils ‘Stolen Hearts’ Podcast Series

2 min read

Amazon’s podcast studio Wandery is teaming up with independent podcast company Novel on the UK original series “Stolen Hearts.”

Combining crime and romcom into a twisted true-life story, the six-part series returns to 2006 to tell the story of a highly respected police sergeant in rural Wales who falls for the wrong guy. While looking for love online, decorated policewoman Jill meets Dean, a handsome, charming and self-made businessman from London with his own line of male grooming products. But there’s something Jill doesn’t know, Dean finds a skeleton in his closet and their fairytale love story turns into a nightmare on Halloween night.

“Stolen Hearts” is written by Kim MacAskill and hosted by Kerry Godliman. Wanderie and Novel had access to characters from the original story.

Following the success of “Harsh Reality,” an investigative series about trans reality TV star Miriam Rivera’s controversial 2004 British reality dating show “There’s Something About Miriam,” the two companies partnered again, launching worldwide in December 2021. Acclaimed and hit number 1 on Apple Podcasts in the UK and US

“Stolen Hearts” releases ad-free on January 16 on Wondery+ Prime members and Amazon Music Unlimited subscribers can access the ad-free series on Amazon Music starting February 6. The series will also be available on all podcast services starting February 6, with episodes dropping weekly.

Wanderie, which was acquired by Amazon in 2020, is known for character-driven stories including “Dr. Death,” “British Scandal,” “Even Richer” and “Business Wars.” Several Wonder podcasts have been adapted for scripted television or streaming series, including “Dr. Death at Peacock” and “Joe vs. Carol” and “The Shrinking Next Door” and “WeCrashed” on Apple TV+.

Novel specializes in cinematic longform narrative podcasts, including “The Superhero Complex,” “Failure (Surviving Tomorrow)” and “The Bellingcat Podcast.”
