Gerhonda Johnson Paes told a federal jury that she began having sex with R. Kelly as soon as she was 1K years old, as the singer was on trial for cheating in Brooklyn on Wednesday. According to the Chicago Tribune, he said he met the singer when he was just 14 years old outside a Chicago court where he went to support Kelly in the early 2000s, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Pace, now 28, said she told the singer she was 19, but revealed their real age after their first sexual contact.
“He asked me, what does that mean?” Pace, now 28, said Wednesday, according to the Tribune. “He told me I kept telling 19-year-olds and behaving like my 21-year-old,” Kelly added, instructing him on how he likes sex. “She took my virginity,” she said.
He said Kelly gave him a drink called Sex in the Kitchen (named after one of his songs). “It was delicious and then I started to feel a little sick.”
Over the next six months, the two continued to have sex, Pace said, noting that he began to establish “rules” quoted by other complainants, snatched his phone, did not allow him to see certain friends, and restricted his movements.
“We can’t leave the houses, we couldn’t go out to see wherever we were – that was part of the rule. The Lord’s law, ”he testified.
The statements are part of an allegation of fraud – commonly used in cartels, gangs or organized crime – which features Kelly’s alleged habit of recruiting young women and men as a criminal organization for sex crimes using his staff. At Wednesday’s hearing, prosecutors detailed a hotel outside Chicago where Kelly married her then-hero Alia when she was just 15 and she was 27 (the marriage was quickly annulled) and a city studio that was abusive to many of her alleged individuals. “This case is not about a celebrity who likes to party a lot – this case is about a hunter.” Assistant U.S. Attorney Maria Cruz Melendez said in her opening remarks to the jury that it included seven men and five women.
Kelly’s attorney, Nicole Blank Baker, described the singer as a victim of women who “wanted to tell their friends that they were with a superstar.”
“He did not appoint them. They were fans. They are Mr. Came to Kelly, ”he said. “They knew exactly what they were doing. It was no secret that Mr. Kelly had multiple girlfriends. He was quite transparent. ”
Baker said the government’s lawsuit was an exaggeration and that future witnesses would lie or exaggerate to compensate the singer.
“You will be told a lot of lies that even the government will not be able to open the net of lies,” he said. “They’re going to make a picture that basically Mr. Kelly is this monster.”
“There was something beautiful about Mr. Kelly’s relationship,” he said, while trying to explain the behavior. Permission to do so was denied, as the complainants complained, but because they were often on long bus trips while on tour.
“Urine in a cup? Yes, you may have heard,” he said. “It’s not illegal, ladies and gentlemen.”
The Tribune reported that Kelly, 54, “sat quietly at the defense table, facing the rocks, with occasional, just recognizable eyebrows.”
The next day, the jury is expected to hear Kelly’s brief, details of allegations of illicit marriage with Alia and torture of other defendants, including Azriel Clary, who spoke in support of the singer until last year, when she left her apartment and joined those who abused her. Complained.
Prosecutors said the trial was expected in the last few weeks and could result in a maximum of 10 years in prison. When the New York trial ended, Kelly faced multiple charges in Chicago, including sexual assault, assault and witness tampering. There are also allegations against him in Minnesota.
