ASCAP Free, Weekly Virtual Conference Series – Reviewing ‘Experience’ as Variety

Almost all conferences have been forced to go online for now, and the long-running ASCAP experience (formerly known as the Expo), designed to “inspire, educate and engage music makers everywhere,” has renewed itself for this year’s free, ongoing weekly virtual event. Starting May 28th.

The series begins with a discussion of Grammy-winning reggae artist Shaggy and his director and co-authors of Martin Kierzenbaum, founder of Charity Records, Whitney Phillips and Jean Stone, and Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s hit “Stock with You”. A creative session with Rainier.

The new long-term series, titled “ASCAP Experience: Home Edition”, will air weekly on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET / 12: 00 p.m. PT and 6:00 p.m. ET / 3: 00 p.m. PT. It will first expand to the end of July, bringing for the first time the real live programming of ASCAP – featuring hit makers, publishers and industry leaders – directly to the home of ASCAP members, aspiring lyricists and others. Now in its 15th year, the 2020 Escape experience took place in Los Angeles with over 1,000 expected attendees.

Each program block will include ASCAP “Sound Advice”, PRO Basics on how to make panels, work registration, and more for music makers.

Registration will be free and open to anyone. ASCAP Experience: The home version will be held on an intuitive multi-dimensional event platform that gives virtual participants the opportunity to engage with fellow lyricists and registrars, panelists and moderators and networks.
