Bruno Mars and Anderson. Pak has announced that their new collaborative album, “An Evening with the Evening Sonic” under the Silk Sonic banner, will be available on all digital streaming platforms on November 12.
No song titles have been released for the tracks yet to be released as part of the announcement, but the album will already include two hits from the duo, “Skate” and “Leave the Doors Open”, both of which have strengthened the excitement for the upcoming album over the past year. “Live the Door Open” premiered in March, with an official music video directed by Mars and Florent Dochard, garnering more than 100,000 million views. The video features silk sonic bands in a recording studio, Mars and drum pack on the piano, warm mood lights, each musician wearing stylish, oversized glasses and colorful button-ups and blazers.
Silk Sonic’s first performance was at the Grammy Awards shortly after the release of “Live the Door Open,” and also took part in paying tribute to Little Richard. In addition, “Live the Door Open” won the Best Group award at the 2021 BET Awards, where Silk Sonic performed live alongside the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The seeds of collaboration between the two artists were sown in 2001 when Mars and .Pak traveled together on the European leg of the 24K Magic World Tour of Mars. A studio session turned into a month-long collaboration, with Bootsy Collins naming Silk Sonic and hosting a special guest host on their upcoming album.
The release date of “An Evening with Silk Sonic” now coincides with Taylor Swift’s next release, “Red (Taylor’s version)”, which was already removed a week before the original scheduled date of November 19, the day fans believe Adele is expecting her own. Will release the album.
One CD version is also targeted and ready for pre-order through the two’s own sites, the latter selling a cassette version; No vinyl version has been announced.
