Acclaimed producer Christina Oh is joining as executive vice president of Annapurna Pictures.
Oh moved to Megan Ellison’s company as the film’s co-head, where she will work alongside the recently installed Adam Paulsen. He will report to Ellison, Chief Creative Officer Sue Negel and Chief Operating Officer Chris Corby.
Oh Brad Pitt joined the store from production company Plan B which was previously engaged in a distribution contract with Annapurna. Oh Pitt and Principal Jeremy Keliner and Dead Gardner have worked with Annapurna to create projects that include: Miranda July’s “Casillanier”, Adam McKay’s “Vice” and Barry Jenkins’s “If Bill Street Can Speak.”
The two teams are also developing a number of new projects, including a feature by Alex Michaelyds’ best-selling novel “The Silent Patient”, directed by Corey Finlay for MT Anderson’s “Landscape with Invisible Hand” MGM, and Darius Murder, director of “Sound of Metal”. .
“It’s a special opportunity to miss something, and I can say without a doubt that I will miss Plan B. Brad, Dade and Jeremy were great teachers and colleagues, and I’ve learned a lot in my life over the decades,” Oh said. “Although the departure is bitterly sweet, I am very happy to be working with my good friend Adam in the Megan and Annapurna family, as we are collaborating to bring new and exciting stories to the screen.”
On Plan B, Oh’s credits included Bong Jun-Ho’s “Okza” and Joe Talbot’s famous feature debut “The Last Black Man in San Francisco”. In 2020, he created the Sundance Sensation Oscar-winning “Minaret”, led by Steven Eun and directed by Lee Isaac Chung. Yuh Jung Eun won Best Supporting Actress for Emotional American Drama, which also won the Sundance Grand Jury Award.
Oh is currently executing “Lego Masters” for Fox and “Paper Girls” from Legendary Television at Amazon Studios.
