Clover Films, a Singapore-based distributor and producer, has partnered with Machi Excelsior Studios in Taiwan for global drama rights (excluding Taiwan and South Korea) in Gidens Co’s “Sesame We Meet Again”.

The film is a fantasy romance, featuring Kai Ko (“You’re the apple of my eye”), Jingle Wang (“Detention”) and Vivian Sang (“Our Times”), which recently received eleven nominations at the Golden Horse Film Awards.

Producers in Taiwan will retain the rights. Hive Media Corporation will manage the drama rights in Korea. The illion 5.5 million movie is set to release on November 24 in Taiwan.

Clover has long been a leading distributor of commercial Asian films in Singapore and Malaysia. It has also created several headlines in the same two regions. Adopting a more comprehensive package outside the manufacturing region (and Korea) is a new step.

“We’re not aiming to do it aggressively for many titles, but we want to do it for titles like this one,” said Clover CEO Lim Tech. Diversity. Clover, longtime independent, sold a 51% control stake in stock market-listed mini-company GHY Culture and Media earlier this year.

Co is a novelist-to-filmmaker who achieved pan-Asian success with his first film, “You’re the Apple of My Eye.” Although he was only involved in directing, Cop remains a prolific writer whose books and scripts have been directed by Adam Tusei (“The Tenants Downstairs”) and others, including Kevin Coe and Putter C (“A Chu”).

“Til We Meet Again” was the opening film of the Buchian International Fantastic Film Festival in July and did the same at last month’s Taipei Film Festival.

Founded in 2018 by Jeff Huang, Machi Excelsior Studios describes its mission as “the integration of film and television entertainment into the Mandarin-speaking market.” It was the producer of “The Sadness” and “Plural”, both of which were completed this year. “We aim to bring Taiwanese entertainment to the global stage with mainstream appeal,” Huang said.

Machi’s veteran distribution guru Lu Wei-chun and Clover’s Lim Tech discussed the deal.

“We are thrilled to be able to manage the theatrical rights to this insanely-anticipated movie! We share the passion of Lu and Machi that this movie was made for cinema halls, and we will do our best to release the movie in theaters in as many markets as possible. We hope Machi And this is the first of many collaborations in Clover! ”, Said Lim Tech.
