“Breakwater” stars Darren Mann, Alyssa Goss, Sonja Sohan and Celia Rose Gooding. They joined Dermat Mulroney in the crime thriller, written and directed by James Rowe, and produced by Luz Cannon Pictures. The film began major photography in North Carolina this week.

Mann played the role of Dove, accused of finding the estranged daughter of a former con-colleague Ray Childress (Mullerney). Breaking his parole and crossing the state line, Dove tracks the mysterious Eve (Goss). Sohan plays Dave’s parole officer, Bonnie Bell, while Gooding plays Eve’s best friend and faithful Jess.

Produced by Matt Paul, Larry Hamel, Edward Winters and Dana Lastig.

Mann co-starred with Stephen Dorf in the MMA indie drama “Embattled” and the upcoming drama “Giant Little Once”. He will appear in the upcoming sixth season of TNT’s “Animal Kingdom”. Goss first drew attention to his appearance on BET’s “The Bobby Brown Story” and will appear in the second season of “Tyler Perry’s Bruh”. Sohan is best known for his role as Kima Greggs in HBO’s “The Wire” and for his work in Showtime’s “The Chi”. Gooding starred in the Broadway rock musical “Jagged Little Peel”, which nominated him for a 2021 Grammy Award and a 2020 Tony Award. He will appear in the upcoming Paramount Plus series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” as Starfleet Officer Nayota Uhura, who first played Nishel Nichols.

“Breakwater” marks the second film for Luz Canon Pictures, led by Matt Paul, who recently produced “Violet.” Paul added, “We are thrilled to continue our mission of bringing high-quality, unconventional stories to the global screen.”

The standards have been recaptured by Ashley M. Hanley at the Paradigm Talent Agency and Tom Spriggs of the Coronal Group. Dana Sims at Creative Artists Agency and Megan Silverman Management has republished Goss. Sohan has been remade by Barry McPherson Agency for the Performing Arts and Irwin More More / Medavoy Management. Michael Goddard repeats Gooding in Carlton, Goddard and Freer Talent.
