Egomeli Harmeku has been appointed Senior Vice President and Creative Director, DF Jam Recordings, firm EVP and GM Rich Isaacson have announced. According to the announcement, Harmeku will provide creative monitoring of content creation, digital and social strategies, and brand identity and partnerships. Based in New York, he will report to Isaacson.
“Over the past decade, a successful mover and shaker in the highly competitive New York City branding community, Ego has built a portfolio and network that is second to none,” Mr. Isaacson said. “As DF Jam continues its fourth decade as a destination in the world of hip-hop culture, Ego will have a wide palette with which to work its magic.”
Harmeku said, “To define exactly what Def Jam means to music, the label limits what it means to Krishna culture and ultimately enhances the global brand’s influence.” “It’s easy. I’m DF Jam because I’m a Duff Jam. Not only has the soundtrack year after year shaped my love for life and music, but its impact has been the foundation of my creativity throughout my career.
“It’s an exciting time on the label and with the new leadership of Jeff Harleston and Rich Isaacson there is a new sense of creativity, perseverance, strategy and responsibility,” he continued. “That’s why DF jam is so important. If there was any obligation to maintain the integrity of Krishna culture, the label is uniquely located in it. Do you know what is more important? The killers of Breona Taylor have not yet been arrested. ”
Harmeku came to DF Jame in 2015 after serving as CEO of the company Magic Creative Agency, which he founded, which designs and executes strategic plans for brands and celebrities. He was also the Director of Nike’s Digital Strategist / Led Social Community, where he led the digital strategy and social community management of Nike East (New York, Boston, DC, Atlanta, Miami) while leading individual digital strategies. He later spent a year at Columbia Records as a senior producer of content development.
Prior to these initiatives, he founded the Harmeku Group, which served as the umbrella for the Nothing Nice New York clothing line, the original Steel Rose wine brand, the luxury Vida Chocolate cigar line.
