As part of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, the LA Chapter is presenting a free event for the entire industry, entitled, “Challenges to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Leadership Change, 21 Sept. 20,” Will be held at ET / 11 am PT.
Led by BMI VP and Chief DEI Officer Sandye Taylor, Broadcast Music, Inc., the panel includes Lillian Majid, Chief Diversity, Inclusion and Related Officers, Universal Music Group, Tiffany R. Warren, EVP, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Sony Music, – Lyricist Will Wells. This panel will discuss how music companies and organizations around the world create and perform programs that encourage a diverse and inclusive culture and innovation for thousands of employees.
“We are committed to developing programs to help educate and provide guidance on important issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion,” he said. Working together to support AIMP members is a priority in our organization, but creating events and forums to move the index forward and encourage change, ”said Terry Nelson Carpenter, former National Chair and President of AIMP Los Angeles Chapter.
“The AIMP LA Chapter is thrilled to be able to lead this diversity, equity and inclusion event on behalf of our full national membership. These issues are critical and worthy of open discussion among our peers. Our goal is not just to educate our colleagues, but to promote a diverse and welcoming culture in the music and entertainment industries, ”said Ginia Eady-Marshall and Barbie Quinn of AIMP.
