Pop icon Elton John has postponed his expected “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour across Europe and the UK until 2023.
The popular actor issued a statement of suspension on social media on Thursday.
John tweeted, “At the end of my summer break I strangely fell on a hard surface and since then I have had considerable pain and discomfort in my buttocks.” “Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain continues to increase and it makes it difficult to move. I have been advised to have surgery as soon as possible to get back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications. I will undergo an intensive physiotherapy program that is complete. He will recover and return to full mobility without pain. ”
John, however, will take part in the September 25 Global Citizen event, “I don’t want to disappoint a charity. With only five songs, playing about three hours per night on the tour and the demand for overnight travel within the country is a different physical commitment.
John’s US tour will resume in January 2022 after an operation in New Orleans.
“I know how patient my incredible fans have been since Kovid stopped touring last year, and it breaks my heart to wait for you anymore,” John wrote. “I totally feel your frustration after the year we got it. I promise you this – the shows will be back on the streets next year and I’ll make sure they last longer than expected. “
In addition to the UK, the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour has dates to play in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, France, Belgium and Norway.
