Leading Korean film sales agent Finecut has taken international rights to the stylish genre action “Project Wolf Hunting”. The company will launch it in the Asian content and film market of the Busan International Film Festival which will start over the weekend.
Directed by Kim Hansun, the film is set aboard a cargo ship that is being used to transport dangerous criminals from Manila in the Philippines to Busan in South Korea. Attempts to escape lead to a riot that in turn manifests an evil force.
Kim is known for delivering stylized genre films, including “Metamorphosis” (2019), “The Chase” (2017) and “The Con Artist” (2014). For “Project Wolf Hunting”, he has co-produced two Korean rising stars, including CO In-Gook (“Pipeline” and TV’s “Doom at Your Service”) and Zhang Dong-Yun (TV’s “Search” and “The Tale of Nakdu”). As the protagonist, the main character with veteran actors Choi Gaihua and Sang Dong-il.
Currently shooting in Korea and the Philippines, the film is produced by Content G and Chum Film (“Transformation,” “Phone”).
Finkut Extra represents two of the Busan Festival’s opening films, “Paradise: To the Land of Happiness” and Im Kong-Su, and two Korean debut films, “The Apartment with Two Women,” and “Through My Midwinter,” respectively. Appears on the new screen. Currents Competition Department and Vision Department.
Outside the screening of the Busan Festival competition, two Hong Sang-su are giving the title “Introduction” and “In front of your face”. Both are represented by Finecut, the pair premiered at other major festivals earlier this year.
Other new commercial titles presented by Finecut during the time of ACFM include “Midnight”, a fast-paced thriller starring a deaf woman chasing after a vicious assassin who emerges as a wicked killer, Y Ha-Jun (“Squid Game”). “Hot Blooded,” a Criticism Noir drama; “Shark: The Beginning,” an action film also starring Y Ha-Jun as the MMA champion; And the awesome title “Guimun: The Lightless Door.
