HBO’s 20-year-old veteran former Eve Constant has joined Spotify in general counseling.
Konstantin took over the role after former Spotify general attorney Horacio Guterres was promoted to head of international affairs and chief legal officer after his last fall. Guterres announced his appointment in a post on LinkedIn on Monday, saying “his extensive experience in the media industry and his proven leadership skills will be a great asset to the organization!”
Most recently, Constant served as EVP and general consultant at Warnermedia Entertainment, a position he held in March-October 2019. During his two decades at HBO, Constant played various roles in the law department of premium programmers.
Prior to joining HBO in 1999, Constant was an associate of Cleary Gottlieb Stein, a New York-based international law firm, and Hamilton LLP. He holds a law degree from Columbia University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Accord College in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Among Spotify’s current legal issues, last month, Toronto-based VoxtonPRO filed a lawsuit against music and audio streamers, alleging that Spotify had stolen business privacy in order to develop its user-generated advertising platform. Spotify did not comment on the allegations.
