Netflix and Adam Sandler found their next picture.
Sources said Diversity The sandler that will star in “Hustle” is from “We the Animals” director Jeremiah Jagger.
The script was written by Taylor Matterne and Will Fatters. Sandler’s Happy Madison, Roth / Kirchenbaum Films and LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s Springhill Entertainment are producing the film.
Sandler plays an American basketball scout who discovers a talented player abroad after being unjustly fired and decides to bring him to the United States to prove what it takes to both make it to the NBA.
The legend originally landed the pitch from Maternal, Roth / Kirchenbaum and Springhill in 2018. Netflix gained rights from the legend and quickly reached out to Sandler as a performing vehicle. The fitters did a polish on the script. Jagger’s recent attachment led Sandler to sign, putting the film in the lead position as his next movie. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Sandler recently received a career-best review for her 2019 dark comedy “Uncut Gems” which also earned her a Spirit Award. Sandler is taking the time to look at his next project and weigh various options. Sources say that if the right opportunity is presented, he can shoot one more film before “Hostel”.
It has been identified as Jagger’s biggest project since directing the upcoming drama “We the Animals” in 2018 which has put him on the radar of several studios.
Sander, Jagger, James and Springhill have been re-ranked by WME. Jagar has been re-featured with untitled entertainment.
