Jeffen Records has named Nicole Bilzarian as its newly created executive vice president. In his new role, the Belgian will work alongside EVP / GM Lee L’Hurex, who arrived in Geffen earlier this year, and will oversee and expand marketing activities on the revitalization label.
Giffen, described in the announcement as a “full-service multi-genre label,” has had recent success with many of its partners, including artists JI and Anne Marie, including Alamo Records’ Rod Wave and Lil Dork.
“Over the past seven years Nicole Interscope has proven to be an invaluable part of the team,” says John Janick, chairman and CEO of Interscope Jeffen A&M. “We look forward to bringing Nicole to Geffen with a deep connection between her marketing skills and the industry, a label that continues to be an important launch pad for artists and partnerships.”
The Belgian senior vice president joined the marketing department of Interscope Jeffen A&M in 2013 before being promoted to head of the urban marketing department. He began his career in 2004 at New York City’s Jeev Records.
“Over the past six years, I have had the honor and pleasure of working with one of the most talented marketing teams in the business,” said the Belgian. “I look forward to expanding marketing activities at Jeffen and working alongside Lee on behalf of Lefebvre’s lively roster and growing list of various partnerships.”
All parts of Universal Music Group’s Interscope Geffen and A&M Imprints were merged into a single label group in 1999. Geffen was helmed by Neil Jacobson, who was nominated for president in 2013, until last December, and Hollywood Media went on to run its own independent music, publishing and record label venture.
