Don’t look for George Clooney to recreate the role of Batman in the upcoming movie “The Flash” like Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton.
“They didn’t ask me,” Clooney told me at a special screening of “The Tender Bar” on Sunday night. “When you destroy a franchise like mine, they usually look the other way when it comes to ‘The Flash.'”
Clooney played the Capped Crusader opposite Chris O’Donnell and Alicia Silverstone in Joel Schumacher’s infamous 1997 film “Batman and Robin”.
Clooney’s wife Amal told me, “She won’t let me see it.
George added, “I’m going to some specific movie, ‘I want my wife to show me some respect.'”
When Amal comments that their twins Alexander and Ella would like to see it, George shouts, “It feels bad when your four-year-old goes, ‘It’s bad.’ It can be painful. ”
“The Tender Bar” marks a reunion for Clooney and Affleck when they teamed up to produce “Argo,” a 2012 political thriller that won three Oscars, including Best Picture Top Award. Clooney joked that it took them nine years to make another movie together because Affleck “ruined the Batman franchise that I made so hard.”
“The Tender Bar” is based on a memoir by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist J. R. Mohringer about his relationship with his uncle Charlie (Affleck) of the same name, who became his father when he grew up on Long Island. Rabe as his mother and Christopher Lloyd as his grandfather. Newcomer Daniel Ranieri has played the role of a young JR NS Sheridan in his years at Yale and as an aspiring newspaper reporter. “It was a very nice script and Ben came on board really early so we just thought we’d have an explosion,” Clooney said.
Sheridan said it was her first time working with a director who was also an actor. “The dynamics change suddenly,” he said. It’s not a director talking to an actor – it is – but it’s an actor talking to an actor.
“The Tender Bar” will be released in New York City and Los Angeles theaters on December 1, followed by a nationwide rollout on December 22. The film will be released worldwide on Amazon Prime Video in January, 2022.
