Gerard Way ‘Umbrella Academy’ in My Chemical Romance

2 min read

Gerard Way, the frontman of My Chemical Romance, has released the first official song of 2020, “Arrived Here,” from the new season of the Netflix series based on the comics and graphic novels created by Webb and Gabriel Ba. The song features singer Judith Hill, who has previously worked with Prince, Michael Jackson and Josh Groban.

Way says of the song, “I was first inspired to write this track when a series of ‘Umbrella Academy’ was shot. When I finished 2020, the whole world changed dramatically and the song ended in a surreal new reality.” The song has been released today with the trailer, which will be available on the occasion of 31st July.

After a long hiatus, My Chemical Romance reformed late last year and booked a worldwide trip for 2020, due to a coronavirus epidemic in 2021. During the lockdown, Way released the song on his personal SoundCloud account.

In the new trailer for “Umbrella Academy,” the Hargreaves family found themselves in Dallas in the 1960s, where they must face another setback. After the Season 1 finale events, the family split over time, all ending in completely different lives, including: Klaus is now a culture leader (naturally), Diego seems to be stuck in a mental hospital, and Allison is in the civil rights movement. Seems to be involved. But somehow, the universality they wanted to avoid is still going to happen, so they must reunite and determine how their new reality is connected to save the world.

Hargreaves will all return in the second season, including Allen Page, Tom Hopper, David Casteda, Amy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher and Justin H. Min.
