Howie Goldberg took part in an environmental short titled “The Huge Change” with the extinction rebellion and “Sugar Man in Search” producer Passion Picture.
The three-minute animated short film is set in 2000 and shows how people came together to save the world from a climate crisis. 2050 is a significant date, when many countries were committed to reaching net zero carbon.
Launched on Friday across various social media platforms of the Climate Worker Extinction Rebellion, the film is on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Passion Pictures ’animation studio previously released a 2018 ad for UK grocery chain Iceland’s palm oil – an ongoing indication of the impact of the palm oil industry in the orangutan forests made with Greenpeace UK is very political.
Brief director George Lewin explained that Goldberg, a one-time UNICEF goodwill ambassador, was contacted because of “his iconic voice” which could “bring Gravitar a perfect idea in performance.”
“He was also outspoken on environmental issues and had the potential to inspire many of his followers to take action,” Levine said. “So we sent the script to his agent, and he quickly came back saying ‘I’m in.’ We can’t believe it.”
