The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival 2021 unveils the lineup
The Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival (HSDFF) has released a lineup of films and honors for its 30th edition, which will be held October 8-16.
The opening night presentation will feature “Citizen Ashes” by Samuel D. Pollard and Rex Miller, a biography of tennis player Arthur Ashes. The film will be “The Rescue”, directed by E Chai Vasarhelli and Jimmy Chin, about the rescue of Tham Luang Cave and the removal of four Confederate monuments from “Neutral Ground”, CJ Hunt’s 2015 New Orleans. The festival will end with a film by Julie Cohen and Betsy West with Julia Child.
Pollard will be honored with the HDSFF Career Achievement Award. Garrett Bradley, director of the 2020 documentary “Time”, will receive the Impact Award. Don Hudson, CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will preside over the event.

The Cinema Audio Society will honor Paul Massey with the CAS Career Achievement Award
The Cinema Audio Society has announced that it will honor sound mixer Paul Massey with the CAS Career Achievement Award at the 58th CAS Awards on March 19, 2022.
“Paul has been making the final sound for films that have been part of the fabric of our popular culture and combined experience for decades,” said CAS President Carol Urban.
“I am delighted, honored and honored to receive this CAS Career Achievement Award,” said Massey. It is very important to me to receive this recognition from my peers, whom I hold in high esteem. ”
Massey worked as a sound mixer for “Bohemian’s Hapsapsodi” (2019), which won him Academy Awards and BAFTA, as well as “Ford vs. Ferrari” (2019) and “Almost Famous” (2000), which won him BAFTA. He studied music growing up in London, then moved to Canada where he recorded and mixed with albums, commercials and various music artists such as Police. Massey then started going into film and television and has since worked in studios like Sony and 20th Century Fox.
The Tehran International Short Film Festival is an Academy Award Qualification Festival
The films awarded at the Tehran Short Film Festival will be eligible for Oscars.
