As the 2021 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival draws to a close, its third annual Tribute Awards will be held on September 1.
This year’s honorees include Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”), director Dennis Villeneuve (“Dun”), Benedict Cumberbatch (“The Power of the Dog” and “The Electrical Life of Lewis Wayne”), Special Tribute Award Respected Dionne Warwick (“Dionne Warwick: Don’t Make Me Over”) and Diversity Artisan Award winner Ari Wegner (“The Power of the Dog”), among others.
Diversity All regions outside of Canada will have exclusive streaming partners for the TIFF Tribute Award. The rewards will continue DiversityIts Facebook page is September 18 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET. The awards will be broadcast on CTV and all CTV topics will be available in Canada.
Presenters include Kirsten Dunst, Rebecca Ferguson, director Michael Schwalter, Eva Longoria and David Wellow.
Previous TIFF tribute honorees include Academy Award winners Joaquin Phoenix, Meryl Streep, Chloe Zhao, Taika Weitti, Anthony Hopkins, Roger Dickinson and many more. The awards have become a major player in the Academy Awards campaign and many recipients continue to win Oscars after the season.
The TIFF Tribute Awards Ceremony is an annual fundraiser that helps transform TIFF’s year-round programming and the organization’s core mission into a way of seeing the world through film. The awards recognize outstanding contributors to the film industry and their achievements, recognizing leading members of the industry, acting talents, management skills, new talents and the following artists and producers.
