Aditya Chopra, chair and MD of Indian studio Yash Raj Films (YRF), has launched a companion card to provide daily wage earners in the industry and their families with health insurance, school fee allowance and food rations among other benefits.
Launched under the auspices of The Yash Chopra Foundation, the card is named after the late Yash Chopra, one of the best filmmakers of all time in Bollywood.
Anyone who is a registered member of the Hindi Film Federation in Mumbai, aged 35 years and above and at least one direct dependent, is eligible to apply for a partner card here. Cardholders can use it for healthcare including health insurance up to INR 200,000 (2,700), free annual check-ups and bills. Registered individuals can use the card to educate their children because YRF is providing allowances for school fees, stationery and uniforms. They can use the card to buy food ration supplies.
