Everything old was new at the Venice Film Festival on Friday, as actor Ben Affleck hit the red carpet with girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, officially launching Benefit 2.0.
The couple posed with co-stars Matt Damon and Jody Comer and director Ridley Scott at the world premiere of “The Last Duel”, a true story of betrayal and revenge in 14th-century France. Co-star Adam Driver was not at hand as he is currently shooting for Noah Bumbach’s “White Noise” in the United States.
Affleck and Lopez landed at Venice Airport on Thursday before heading to town in a Vaporoto taxi – a speedboat called “Confusion”. Their arrival put an end to weeks of speculation as to whether the couple would attend the film festival together and make their debut on the first major red carpet after reunion.
Lopez and Affleck, also known as “Benefaire”, were due to marry in 2003, but postponed their marriage before canceling their relationship. They started dating again a few months ago after parting ways with Alex Rodriguez in April.
The action epic “The Last Duel” marks a different kind of reunion for the stars Damon and Affleck, who co-wrote the film’s script, writing together for the first time since the 1997 Oscar-winning success of “Good Will Hunting”. Affleck and Damon also co-produced the film তৈরি making the premiere a more auspicious place for the celebrity couple.
Based on actual facts, “The Last Duel” centers on the allegation of Marguerite de Caruেসs (Jodi Kamar), the wife of Jan de Caruেসs (Matt Damon), that Jack Le Greece (Adam Driver) sexually abused her. The fate of the three will have to be decided through the conflict of death.
More to come.
