According to an incident report from the Nevada Sheriff’s Office (via CNN), Jeremy Renner was trying to stop his snowplow from sliding and hitting his adult nephew when the actor was dragged under the car and crushed on Jan. 1.
After pulling his nephew’s truck out of the snow using a plow, Renner “exited the vehicle without an emergency break,” as the heavy equipment began to slide sideways, according to the report, which also noted that the Snowcat’s cab had brake indicator lights on. Not working, and “mechanical problems may have caused this accident.”
Per CNN, the report stated: “Although the PistonBully had some mechanical issues, based on our mechanical inspection it is believed that the parking brake will prevent the PistonBully from moving forward. When Rainer (his nephew) tried to stop or divert Pistenbully to avoid injury, he was dragged down the track by the car.”
Renner’s nephew helped the “Avengers” actor until emergency medical help arrived on the scene and took him to the hospital.
Rainer suffered more than 30 broken bones in a snowplow accident that left him hospitalized with blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. Now recovering and undergoing physical therapy, Renner has frequently used social media to keep his fans updated on his health.
diversity January 17 confirmed that Rainer had left the hospital and returned home. She more or less announced the news herself when she told fans on social media that she was “so excited” to watch the season premiere of her Paramount+ series “Mayor of Kingstown” at home.
