Fast-Rising Independent music company Reservoir Media has announced a deal with legendary singer-songwriter and eight-time Grammy winner Johnny Mitchell to make the company the global administrator of its publishing catalog. Born in Canada, Mitchell first appeared in the mid-1960s as a folk artist named his singer Johnny Anderson. He crossed paths with many contemporaries in the early years of his career, including fellow Canadian Neil Young, and was spotted performing at a nightclub in Florida in 1967 and was advised by David Crossby of Birds and Crosby, Steels and Nash. He introduced him to his influential friends in California, where he soon moved, and he signed with Warner’s Reprise Records, releasing his first album, “Song to a Seagull,” in 1968.
