IAB’s streaming-only 2020 NewFront schedule is out, with several new players added to the week-long digital-marketing pitchfest until June 22-2 streaming.
Among the nearly two dozen companies featured in the 2020 NewFront, social media players Facebook, Snap and TickTock will take part in the NewFront for the first time. The Interactive Advertising Bureau, a trade group that runs Newfronts, rescheduled the series earlier this spring because of the Covid-19 crisis.
Presentations will be held each time from 12-4pm to 5pm. ET. In addition to bringing back Hulu and YouTube, the founding partner of this year’s NewFrontes, will include 20 more presentations: American Public Media, CondyNast, Kakkal Plus, Ellen Digital, Forbes, Roku, Wall Street Journal / Baron Group, Snap, TickTower, Vivo, Vice Media Group, VibonMix, 3Blackdot, Facebook, GSTV, Samsung AdWords, TV Wow, vibration video and it’s A&T’s Exander.
Newfronts 2020 will take part in a “Gaming and Sports” session on Friday, June 26th, participants have not yet been announced.
Following NewFront’s suspension, the companies that were dropped include Twitter, Verizon Media, Amazon, BBC News, Meredith, The New York Times Co., and Voodoo (which is in the process of being sold to Walmart NBCUniversal’s Fandango).
Earlier, the 2020 NewFront was scheduled for April 27-May 6 at various locations in New York City. Patterned on the TV industry’s upfront – which was forced to switch to Internet-only processes – the annual Newfront allows digital media players to showcase new programming, formatting, and advertising capabilities to advertisers and agencies.
The IAB said it was still in talks to add more presenters. Trade Group President David Cohen also stressed that it was “in the final stages of bringing incredibly attractive hosts for Newfronts this year.”
