Kali Uchis set to drop new album in March, unveils US tour dates

3 min read

After teasing the release of two albums this year – one in English and one in Spanish – Kali Uchis has confirmed that her English-language album “Red Moon in Venus” is set to arrive on March 3 via Geffen Records. The bilingual pop star also unveiled a 20-date headlining trek across North America this spring.

“Love is the message,” Uchis said in a statement about the new project. “‘Venus Red Moon’ is a timeless, fiery expression of desire, heartbreak, faith and integrity, reflecting the divine feminine of the Moon and Venus. The Moon and Venus work together to make the key aspects of love and domestic life work well. This piece of work is all about love. Represents levels – releasing people with love, drawing love and self-love into your life. It is believed by many astrologers that the blood moon can swirl your emotions and this is what I feel best represents this work.”

Produced by Live Nation, the tour will make stops at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom, Washington DC’s Anthem and more. These are the dates Uchis will be performing this year, including Coachella, and Lollapalooza in Chile, Argentina and Brazil, in addition to Estero Picnic in Colombia.

General sales for the North American tour begin January 26 at 10 a.m. local time at kaliuchis.com.

Ahead of the announcement, Uchis released a sultry single, “I Wish You Roses,” which came alongside a floral visual treatment.

“This song is about being able to let go of loved ones,” Uchis said in a previous statement. “It could be a friend, a lover, or someone else, but the point is to celebrate letting the person out of your life without feeling resentful or bitter.”

“Red Moon on Venus” was described in a press release as “soul, R&B, pop, Musica Urbana and more experimental textures,” and stems from Uchis’ goal “to create an album that feels timeless, that can be enjoyed anytime and anywhere, and that will be meaningful to him and his fans for years to come.”

Uchis’ last album was 2020’s “Sin Meido (Del Amor y Otros Demonios)”, which spawned the Spanglish pop radio hit “Telepatia”. In September, Uchis released his first solo single since 2020, “La Unica,” and followed it up with “No Hey Le.” Earlier, he covered Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto’s 1959 song “Desafinado” for the Jack Antonoff-produced “Minions: The Rise of Gru” soundtrack.
