Netflix has released the first teaser for world-famous superstar Kanye West’s intimate portrait “Jean-Uhus”.
Powered by Cuddy Simmons and Chick Ojah, better known as Cody and Chick, is a three-act documentary that follows the West for 20 years. “Jean-Yves” shows behind-the-scenes footage from the West when he made his way from singer to businessman and became a global brand. Doc is also said to be looking into his proposal for a failed 2020 presidential election and the death of his mother, Danda West.
The teaser features a home video of West and Moss Diff, singing their “two words” from West’s 2004 album “The College Dropout”.
West finally released his long-awaited album “Danda” at the end of August, which broke records after the release. The album set a new record by reaching number 1 on Apple Music’s top album chart in 152 countries in 24 hours. According to Apple, in the first full day of the album’s release, “Danda” flowed more than 60 million times in the United States.
“Donda” also broke the 2021 record for being the most streamed artist and album in a single day, and on the first day of Apple Music’s release, “Donda” became the third most played album.
Earlier this year, West won his first Gospel Grammy for his “Jesus Is King” album and the 22nd Grammy of his career, which earned him honors from the recording academy for the first time since 2013. In addition to winning the traditional themed gospel album for “Jesus Is Born” at the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Dove Awards, West also produced a rap / hip hop album for “Jesus Is King” and a rap / hip-hop rap for “Follow”. “
JM Harper is on the board as co-director of the three-part documentary. Coodie and Chike previously worked with West on his 2004 music video “Jesus Walks (version 3)” and “Through the Wire”.
The premiere date of “Jean-Yves” has not been announced.
