Kevin Spacey has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of sexual assault.

The actor attended a hearing on Friday afternoon at London’s Southwark Crown Court over his alleged sex offenses via video link.

A hearing on the second set of charges against Spacey was held in November. The new charges are three counts of indecent assault, three counts of sexual assault and one count of engaging a person in sexual activity without consent. They all relate to a male complainant, and the alleged assaults span a period from 2001 to 2004.

During the hearing, a somber-looking Spacey only confirmed his name, Kevin Fowler, and pleaded “not guilty” to all seven counts.

Spacey’s lawyer, Patrick Gibbs, also appeared on the video link and agreed to join Spacey’s double arraignment. That would allow a trial on all counts against Spacey.

A pre-trial hearing is tentatively set for April 5.

In December 2022, the “House of Cards” actor similarly attended a hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court via video link and spoke briefly, confirming his name, date of birth and London address. At that time he did not indicate any application. There are a total of 12 allegations against the actor.

The first set of charges brought against Spacey last year were for five counts of sexual assault. He pleaded not guilty to all five counts in July. The allegations involve the alleged sexual assault of three men while Spacey lived in London and worked as artistic director of the Old Vic Theatre. Spacey is scheduled to stand trial in the U.K. on June 6 on those counts. The trial is expected to last four weeks.

He was granted unconditional bail ahead of a virtual appearance on Friday.

On January 16, Spacey will give a masterclass at Italy’s National Cinema Museum and then receive their Lifetime Achievement Award.

More to come.
