Korean actor Shin Se-kyung, star of “Fresh: Another Card” and the current TV series “Run On”, is the subject of “Another Record”, an unusual documentary being released at the Asian Contents and Film Market this week. One of Korea’s longest running film production, distribution and sales companies is managing showbiz rights sales.
The company is branding “another record” as “the unknown story of the well-known Shin Se-kyung.” Given Shin’s current popularity and his huge social media (45 million YouTube views of his content) anonymous seems like an impossible situation. But the picture tries to fly towards the wall.
Instead of interviewing the actor directly, the film follows Shin as he travels around Seoul, meeting different people, eating and stopping for drinks. While sharing the story, Shin tells some parts of his story that he has never published before.
The film is directed by Kim Jong-Kwan, who previously directed last year’s Warner Bros.-distributed “Josie” and previously produced “The Table” and “The Worst Woman.”
The film is a Katie Season presentation of a showbox production in collaboration with Remongreen. A theater release date in Korea is October 28th.
“Shin Se-kyong’s hidden stories come to light naturally when he talks to people he meets instead of interviewing. Spending time creating bonds and sharing emotions with people creates
‘Another Record’ Special. And finding the actress’ lifestyle in the moment makes this project a movie, ”Kim said. “Visitors follow Shin to walk, drink, share stories and find his intuition and charm in his style. It will be a unique experience immersed in the scent of a seasonal dream.
Showbox is also responsible for international sales in “Emergency Manifesto”, the action drama that starred in a special section this year in Cannes, and “Singkhol”, a disaster action movie that grossed 17 17.6 million at the box office this summer, is the fourth biggest film of the year.
