La Liga Winners Firsts Pitched Enechi-MFA Territory Focus – Variety

Hats off to Annecy, “Primrose” (Firsts) is a 2D TV project that shows how the industry is being driven more on issues of gender and inclusion.

Part of La Liga Focus, and produced by Chippewa’s Tippo Creative Lab and Pizarro Studios, the 13-episode anthropology series pioneered the knowledge, sports, and culture of Latin American women leaders that historically have been reserved for men. The cut was made by Tatiana Calder, the first female examiner in Formula One, Prudensia Ayala, the first female presidential candidate, and Elosa Daz, Chile’s first female doctor.

Also included is Gabriela Mistral – all Latin American Nobel Laureate before becoming a male – Torre Juana ins de la Cruz, a ground-breaking 17th-century female poet in Mexico; And Anaconda said she was the first woman to lead an army against Spanish conquerors.

“Animation always gives me the feeling of being in a dream and that’s the continuity: the freedom to dream. Girls and boys have no limits when it comes to dreaming: that’s why they co-created Catalina Fontecilla with “Xavi Risco” and executive producer, “Primros”, say that’s why they’re so acceptable in the animation.

Fontecilla adds: “These stories can sometimes be a bit heavy or challenging, with a dose of general animation, beauty and dynamism in the animation.”

Including fictional conversations with its subjects, “Firsts” reflects Tippo Creative Lab’s production line: some social message-carrying stories and / or a strong Latin identity, especially for kids and family listeners, “the creator said.

Founded by Risco and Bombay Orellana, Tippo Creative has appeared in Annecy with an episode of her TV series and special section “Normaltown”, a 2D half-hour episode inspired by the magical realism of Latin America.

Other projects presented in La Liga Territory Focus on 1 L June took the first feature “Coda” of Argentina’s Juan Pablo Jarmella, produced by Argentina’s JPZudio and Chile’s Jumbastico Studios; “The Bird Kingdom” targets adult audiences at Wesley Rodriguez 2D in Brazil’s Lupa Films and Armoria Studios; And Bruno Basque’s preschool TV series “The Little Kites” from the Brazilian mono animation featuring the 2D historical historical Odyssey “Winnipeg, the Seed of Hope” by Chile’s El Otro Films, Spain’s La Balesta and France’s Marmitafilm.

Regional Focus is an umbrella association created by Argentina’s Ventana Sur Animation, co-organized by La Liga de la Animacian Iberoamericana in Focus! The Pixelat Festival of Mexico, created in partnership with the Forum, the Quirino Prize in Spain and the Annecy Animation Festival. “Firsts” was chosen from all the projects and productions presented at the Buenos Aires Animation in December!
