Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett have released a trailer for their new album “Love for Sale”.
This clip reveals behind-the-scenes footage and the words of the legendary couple, revealing how this latest collaboration came together. Gaga says she received a call from Bennett after the release of the 2014 album “Cheek to Cheek” in 2014, proposing another project. As Gaga recalls: “Tony called me right after. I think it was the day after the record was released. He said, ‘I want to record this Cole Porter with you.’
Nearly six years later, the two, who recently sold out a pair of concerts at Radio City Music Hall in New York, are keeping a wax promise, recording the final studio recordings of Bennett’s career and revealing the aftermath of Bennett and Gaga’s decades together – long history.
“I really want young kids to listen to jazz songs because it’s important,” said Gaga, who will be back in Las Vegas next month at her jazz and piano show Park MGM. “It’s not something that should be left behind. This is something that should be covered forever. ”
“He’s got so much talent that when we’re together, something very good happens between the two of us,” Bennett said. “It becomes a creative thing that happens.”
The album’s tracks include: “Do I Love You,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and “Let’s Do It,” a value that Gaga says, “one of my favorite Cole Porter songs.” Never written. ”
The trailer is only part of the “Love for Sale” rollout. Earlier this month, it was announced that the campaign would include a wide range of broadcast material in the coming months, as the pair have partnered with ViacomCBS for three different specials – CBS, MTV Entertainment Group and Paramount Plus. Among them is Bennett’s return to the “MTV Unplugged” franchise which gives his career a big comeback, this time with Gaga.
Gate’s first special outing will be “One Last Time: An Evening with Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga”, which will air on CBS on Sunday Thanksgiving Weekend at 8pm ET / PT. The hour-long show is a film of their two concerts at Radio City Music Hall in August. Billed as Bennett’s final public performance, the first night coincided with his 95th birthday. Outside of its CBS berth, the show will be available for streaming on the Paramount Plus service.
The next one is “MTV Unplugged: Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,” the wind date set for winter is yet to come. The show was filmed during an August Radio City Music Hall performance with viewers at an intimate studio in New York City. The branding played a major role in Bennett’s career nearly three decades ago, when his first “MTV Unplugged” special turned out to be a smash hit on a 1994 album that won the 1995 Grammy for the album of the year. “Tony Bennett’s resurgence in the ’90s began with his’ MTV Unplugged’ and in time the last chapter ended on the same note,” said Danny Bennett, Bennett’s son and longtime manager.
The rollout of the last three parts will include a documentary, “The Lady and the Legend”, which is only available through Paramount Plus, the date of the premiere has not yet been announced. Described to provide an intimate look at “a beautiful friendship and musical partnership that transcends generations”, the special will include footage from the making of the album “Love for Sale”.
“Love for Sale” will be available in standard, deluxe, vinyl and cassette configurations as well as a highly collectible box set version. Fans can now pre-order the deluxe version of “Love for Sale” on CD and Vvnyl via Target, “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “You’re The Top.”
