Brussels-based B for Films has closed several deals for “Lee With Me,” Olivier Pion’s romance drama starring well-known French actors including Guillaume de Tonquebec and Victor Belmondo.

The film is based on Philippe Besson’s book “ArrĂȘte avec tes mensonges”. The autobiographical novel was originally published in France by Editions Juilliard in 2017 and won a pair of awards, including the 2017 Maison de la Presse.

“Lee With Me” star The Tonquebec plays Stephen Belcourt, a prominent novelist who becomes the brand ambassador of a famous cognac celebrating their bicentennial. The gig took him back to his hometown for the first time in years. Once there, she meets Lucas, the son of a man she passionately loved when she was 17. Memories of this first love return to Stephen and he and Lucas begin an unlikely romance.

Be For Films is organizing a market screening for the film at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris. The company has already closed several deals on movies in Canada (Axia Films Inc), Israel (New Cinema Ltd), Australia/New Zealand (High Gloss Entertainment), UK/Ire (Peccadillo Pictures). Other areas are under discussion. French distribution company KMBO will distribute the movie in France on February 22.

Be for Films’ lineup includes Julien Carpentier’s feature debut “La Vie de Ma Mare,” a heartwarming mother-son dramedy starring Agnes Zawi and William Lebghill. The company’s recent hits include Eric Gravel’s social thriller “Full Time,” which sold at Music Box in the US.
