Marvel Studios released new footage of “Eternals” on Sunday, to take a closer look at the recent entry in the MCU story. The new teaser showcases the group’s various abilities and capabilities, as well as giving fans a peek into the personal lives of Marvel’s new heroes.
The clip begins with Cersi (Jemma Chan) explaining Eternals’ mission to bring humans to Earth that protects humans from the threat of creatures called deviant. The trailer takes a first look at Don Lee’s Gilgamesh power, with a shot of the character hitting a fist against a giant charging monster. Icaris (Richard Madden) uses his laser vision and flight, while Thena (Angelina Jolie) swings a golden sword to slice into an upcoming volcanic project.
The family of Fastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Marvel’s first public gay superhero, has also been given a spotlight in the new footage. A scene of the protagonist meeting her husband (Haj Sleiman) and son Icaris – her son excitedly claiming he saw her on TV – gives the trailer a heartbreaking break from his action shots.
“Eternals” is directed by Chloe Zhao, who was nominated for Best Director for this year’s Oscar for the work of Searchlight Pictures “Nomadland”. In addition to Chan, Madden, Jolie, Henry and Lee, the film stars Comilla Nanjiani Kingo, Leah McHugh Sprite, Lauren Ridolph as McCurry, Barry Keogan as Drug and Salma Hayek today. Kit Harrington plays the human Dan Whitman, aka The Black Knight.
“Eternals” will start its drama-exclusive run on November 5. Check out the new footage below.
