Matthew McConaughey personally delivered a load of face masks to a hospital in Texas battling the coronavirus.
The actor and his wife, Camilla Alves McConaughey, unveiled 110,000 masks ahead of the Memorial Day weekend. McConaughey posted a picture of his car and a box of masks on his Instagram account on Thursday.
“Thanks to Lincoln for donating 110,000 masks – I’m pushing the road to be admitted to a needy rural hospital across that Texas at @CamillaMaunch,” he wrote.
The couple made another large donation of masks for healthcare workers in April. They donated 80,000 face masks to hospital staff in Austin and New Orleans, working with the Beastrong Relief Initiative of “New York City Real Housewives” star Bethany Frankel.
McConaughey also lent a hand in celebrating the 2020 undergraduate class at their virtual event. On his Instagram, the actor posted a message to students at the University of Texas at Austin, his alma mater. He appeared on “Good Morning America” via a video call to greet New York’s Urban Assembly School for emergency management. In addition to lectures and donations, McConaughey and her family surprised a nursing home in Texas by hosting a virtual bingo night in April.
