Michael Bubli has pledged $ 100,000 to ACLU as a mill challenge to his fans to “participate as part of a solution to help seek justice and the right to equality,” it was announced on Wednesday, June 3rd.
Speaking about the unarmed black man killed by Minneapolis police officers, Bubble said, “Along with the rest of the world, I saw the police in panic as George Floyd literally breathed his last. “This kind of world I don’t want my kids to grow up with. I express my solidarity with the black community and all those who seek justice and equal rights. I pray for the protection of millions of peaceful protesters around the world at this devastating time – because they have expressed their anger and real change is needed. ”
Bubble, a four-time Grammy winner who has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, is pledging $ 100,000 to match each grant at ACLU, according to his Warner Records labor.
The self-described “Global Citizen of the World”, who is separated from his family in Vancouver, Canada due to the coronavirus epidemic, added: “Each of us should do more than pray. We need to be part of the solution to the fight against systemic racism no matter what. There is so much to do but for now, I am giving a grant to ACLU who are continuing their work seeking justice for all citizens and human rights. Change can happen if each of us does what we can. Thank you and may God bless you. “
