Paramount Pictures has parted ways with Mirali Soria, president of Animation, sources said. Diversity.
In a publicity stunt, Nickelodeon’s Ramsay Naito has added supervision of the label to his workplace. Soria’s departure comes as a continued reorganization of Paramount Pictures by new chairman and CEO Brian Robbins, who replaced Jim Giannopoulos in early September. Emma Watts, a one-year-old production executive, was fired last Friday as president of Paramount Motion Picture Group.
“Ramsay is one of the most intelligent executives and creative minds in our industry. During Nick’s time, he transformed and revived the animation studio department with his keen business acumen, deep stability in relationships and unique eyes for great storytelling, and I’m thrilled to bring his talent into this expanded role.” He can further improve our overall animation business, ”Robbins said in a statement.
Soria, he added, “was the driving force behind creating a new, dynamic and modern chapter in Paramount Animation. We thank him for his many contributions to the organization and wish him well in his future endeavors. ”
Saria was appointed in 2017 to lead the animation department. He joined the company from DreamWorks Animation, where he served as vice president of feature animation and made hits like “Boss Baby” and “Trolls”.
