MTV VMS Nomination 2020: Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, The Weekend

MTV has announced the nominees for the 2020 Video Music Awards, with Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Billy Elish and The Weekend at the top.

All four have been nominated for Video of the Year, the most coveted category of the program: Gaga and Grande for their “Rain on Me” music video, Hilsa, Weekend for “Everything I Wanted” and Weekend for “Blind Lights”.

Gaga and Grand have received nine nominations each, and Hilsa and The Weekend have received six nominations each. Notably, Gaga and The Weekend have been nominated for Artist of the Year and Hilsa, Grand and Gaga are ready for the song of the year with “Everything I Want” and “Rain on Mr.”, respectively.

MTV announced this year’s nominations via Twitter’s voice note, showing the first big prizes for using their feature. Two new quarantine-themed sections have also been launched: Best Music Video from Home and Best Quarantine Performance.

“We’re excited to release an incredible list of VMA nominees who have created this year’s unique music landscape and will present fans with an event that celebrates the powerful ying-pounding power of music,” said Brack Gilmer, president of music talent at Viacom CBS Media Network. And events.

Fans will now be able to vote for the winners in 15 categories on MTV’s website via 2TV August.
