Natalia Dyer is starring in “Chestnut” with Rachel Keller and Danny Ramirez, a comedy love triangle that marks the film’s debut featuring director Jack Kron. Shot on location and named for the center of comedy culture in Philadelphia, Chestnut, the film quietly finished production this month. It is looking forward to the festival premiere in early 2022.
Dyer plays a recent graduate who unexpectedly gets involved with a man and a woman in a goalless summer after college, forming another corner of the love triangle between Keller and Ramirez. Pictures include Chella Man (HBO Max’s “Titans” and Caleb Eberhard (HBO’s “Betty,” “Judas and the Black Messiah”)), and a score.
Composer Keegan DeWitt (“Her Smell,” “Hearts Beat Loud”). It was created by Lizzie Shapiro (“Shiva Baby,” “Mickey and the Bear”) and Lexi Tanenholtz.
Chestnut reunites Shapiro with Utopia, who released “Shiva Baby” earlier this year. In addition to executive production, Utopia is managing the film’s worldwide sales.
Dyer is best known for his work as Nancy Wheeler on Netflix’s “Stranger Things”. He also appeared in “Yes, God, Yes” and “Velvet Bajsao”. Keller has appeared in the second season of “Legion” and the FX series “Fargo”. He will star in the upcoming HBO Max series “Tokyo Vice”. Ramirez played Mario Martinez in “On My Block” and Joaquin Torres in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” He will appear in the upcoming “Top Song: Maverick”.
Kroner’s short “House Seat” starring Keller was screened nationally and internationally at film festivals, including the SF Independent, the Philadelphia Film Festival, and the female filmmaker Berlin.
Leo Bloomberg-Ol, Ryan Jones of Neon Heart Productions, David Betesh of Utopia and Robert Schwarzmann are executive producers.
Dyer has been restored by WME and One Entertainment. Keller has been re-hired by UTA, Independent Talent Group and Suskin Management. Ramirez has been repeated by CAA, Anonymous Content, Viewpoint and Hansen, Jacobson, Taylor, Huberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Caller and Gelman. Maris Yarne McKeown / Mayons Entertainment and attorney Carrie Dobkin repeated the man. Eberhardt is repped by UTA.
