NBCU sells Blueprint subscription-streaming service to TN Marketing – Miscellaneous

NBC Universal told Blueprint members in May that it plans to discontinue the subscription VOD service based on crafts and hobbies “for the next few months.”

Instead, the media company is selling Blueprint’s assets to TN Marketing, a Minneapolis-based online video subscription and streaming business. The terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Blueprint was originally launched in 2011 as Craftsy. The company acquired NBCU in 2017, changing its name a year later to Blueprint and selling a model to a La Cart video subscription service for more than 3,000 hours of instructional video for 15 each. Months.

When John Levis, CEO of Blueprint, one of the co-founders of Kratfusi, informed members about the service’s closure, members expressed concern that they would lose access to classes they had already purchased. Through the agreement, TN Marketing “has agreed to honor previous customer purchases for classes and subscriptions and will protect your access to blueprint content,” Lewis wrote in a message posted Wednesday on the website.

“Blueprint is a natural fit as part of TN Marketing’s online community portfolio,” said Cal Franklin, CEO and President of TN Marketing. Together, TN Marketing and Blueprint have sold nearly 17 million classes to an estimated 3.5 million subscribers and own more than 4,000 hours of instructional video content.

“Our team has been focusing on the excitement, enthusiasm and loyalty of the Blueprint community, trainers, designers and content creators since the days of Craftsy,” added TN Marketing’s Jim Copp, EVP and GM of Digital Business.

With the acquisition of Blueprint, TN Marketing operates 12 online communities, including the National Sewing Circle, the American Woodworkers Guild, Healthy UTV, Outdoor Photography Guide, and the RV Repair Club.
