Netflix’s ‘The Wolfbis’ saw 37 37 million in its first month – variety2 min read
Netflix’s animated movie “The Wolfbis” saw 3.6.6 million households on its platform in its first month, the company said on Friday.
Directed by Chris Pern, this is the second original film in the streamer’s animation section to provide the kind of family content that has been offered by contestants over the years.
While Netflix’s tradition of philosophical data is historically tight, its metrics for “The Wilfibis” are a bit stronger than its usual equation for viewing. Netflix has logged about 38 million individual accounts to watch the movie for at least two minutes, not for the number of Netflix accounts and profiles in a single home.
Underlying, Netflix only registers for each viewing at once, and does not account for repeated viewings – which is ideal for children with this type of content re-submission.
“The Wilfies” refers to the neglected families of children under self-parenting, who conspire to leave them in the hope of a better life and send the orphans themselves. Will Fort, Maya Rudolph, Jane Krakowski and Ricky Graves are out of the voice cast. Rotten Tomatoes has 90% of the movie’s new ratings, making it one of the best reviewed animated titles of the year so far.
The first original in Netflix’s space was “Klaus”, a Santa Claus original story that won the title of “I Lost My Body” as well as Netflix’s first Oscar nomination for animation. The film saw 40 million Netflix accounts in its first 28 days.
“The movie may feature two parents who deserve less protection, but it’s responsible for the way it presents the idea (your kids won’t have a snake in your bed or a scarecrow in your coffee after watching it)” Variety critic Peter DeBruze wrote. Review. “At a time when most locked-in American families are very close to the limits of how much they can stand up for each other,” The Wilbies “wraps things up nicely with a song.”
