Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, the streamer of Twitch’s popular video game, has died, according to a social media post from his ex-girlfriend and brother. He is 31 years old.
According to Blue Madrigal, his ex-girlfriend and one person who initially confirmed his death on social media, Barstein committed suicide.
Bernstein became known as Twitch on Reckful, where he was best known for his “Work of the World” stream and had more than 936,000 followers. Most recently, Bernstein worked as the developer of his own video game, “Everland”, which was set to release later this year.
Bernstein expressed concern about a series of series on Thursday morning Tweets, In which he appears to have proposed to his ex-girlfriend Beka Choke. “He made me realize that I knew nothing about depression, I knew nothing about mental health issues,” F wrote. “I had this vague idea of what it was and I was embarrassed to think I could help with the little bulls.”
F called for “better assistance to those with a mental illness”, citing an earlier example where Bernstein had called the police at risk of suicide.

Bernstein’s brother Garrio wrote on Twitter to confirm his death, “My baby brother Byron is gone. Rip. He left just like my older brother Guy. I have no siblings. “Guy committed suicide when Bernstein was just 6 years old,” Bernstein said in a YouTube video posted in January.
