Reggaeton star, actor and socialite Don Omar Has signed a partnership with many years Soap Music Group (SMG). Founded by entertainment giant Hyme Soap and led by CEO Gustavo Lopez, the label includes Static and others, including Ben L, Nakia Gold and Cheska.
“I am delighted to be joining forces with the Soap Music Group and to be supported by Heim and Goose’s intelligent business and artistic instincts,” Omar said. “I can’t wait to do what I love most with my loyal fans and listeners and introduce them to the exciting new music that comes to me.”
Added soap: “Don Omar is one of the music stars of the past two decades, he set the pace for the entire Latin urban genre; without his charismatic stage presence, deep compositional skills, and strong vocal delivery, Latin music would be a completely different creature today and we I am honored to be able to join the force. ”
Early in his career, Lopez worked with Omar and reunited the two who went on to SMG. “Don will always be my family,” Lopez said. “When the opportunity came to work together again, it seemed like not a day had passed. And yet, he is now making the best music of his career.
In the deal SMG bears all the recording and marketing costs forward, as it does with all its artists.
Debuting in 2003, beginning with “The Last Dawn”, Omar has released seven studio albums and multiple hits on the US Latin and Tropical charts. In 2020, he released “Pa ‘Romperla” with Spanish chart-topper Bad Bunny.
