Rise and Shine Grabs Soco Music Dock ‘We Move Here We Groove’

Stephen Cluj’s Rise and Shine World Sales Agency has taken away all world rights except for the musical documentary “Here We Move We Grove” by Serez Creso to the Netherlands.

Making its world premiere as part of the Dutch competition of IDFA, produced by Amsterdam-based Doxy Films, “Here We Go”, presents a stirring and optimistic musical about building bridges through music.

It was followed by DJ Robert Soko, who escaped the Yugoslav wars in his teens, and electronically used Balkan rhythms to blend Western music and culture, becoming Europe’s most famous Balkan beat DJ.

“We have been tracking the project for a while. I have known Robert Soco’s activities for several years and our office is basically across the street from his Balkan Beat Party club in Berlin, ”Klush told Variety.

“But our interest in distribution is a special quality of this film: ‘Here We Move Here Way Grove’ is an enlightened music road movie and a mix of cultural experiences that are timely for the age we are living in,” he added.

In the current IDFA hybrid version, “November Hugh Move” will go on sale on Tuesday, November 24th, with tickets to the Tushinsky 1 Theater – and online November 28th and 4th December.

“It’s so embarrassing that the film can’t have a truly packed movie premiere because it’s a great audience experience. But it’s a lucrative movie to watch online. We hope the world premiere brings the film to the worldwide spotlight and buyers around the world,” Cluj said.

He added: “I see a wide market for the film. Because of the music and party atmosphere I watch dozens of film festivals and watch some theaters get released in Europe. And in these times it’s great TV programming all over the world where we are interested in lighter films that have the same solid substance at the same time. “

Rise and Shine will present the title “A Symphony of Noise” at the Global IDFA Forum, about acclaimed British musician and concept artist Matthew Herbert. The film is slated for release in the first quarter of 2021.

In a recent deal run by Rice & Shine, Docs for Sale titled “Finding Sally” has found a broadcast home in the United States: Black Public Media, the film acquired for its PBS-slot “Afropopy”.

Cluj has unveiled Al Jazeera’s multi-award-winning Docs for Sale title “The Wall of Shadow” and the BBC’s Best of Fest for the Berlinale, “Garage People”.
