Robert Pattinson faced his fear of dancing, suffering massive panic attacks

2 min read

Robert Pattinson faced his deepest fears by dancing on camera in an ad for Dior’s Homme fragrance. But that didn’t stop the “Batman” star from suffering “one of the biggest panic attacks of my life” when she hit the dance floor at a party just weeks after shooting the ad.

“I thought I was going to break my curse doing that scene,” Pattinson told ES magazine in a recent cover story. “But then I went to a party a few weeks later – thought I looked like Billy Elliot – and as soon as I stepped on the dance floor I had the biggest panic attack of my life.”

Pattinson continued, “You know when you think you’re that guy and then all of a sudden, you’re just brutally humble. Yeah, it was like my dad caught me riding in a car. I got cold feet; I think I left the party after that. .

In the Dior ad Pattinson dances erratically alone under a spotlight, separate from the large crowd dancing behind in the dark. A Dior fragrance ambassador, Pattinson has worked with the company for 10 years, describing her relationship with the brand as “one of the most enjoyable work and personal experiences of my life.”

Elsewhere in the ES story, Pattinson talks about the “imaginative” body standards men face and the various diets she’s tried over the years, including keto and a potato cleanse.

“I once ate nothing but potatoes for two weeks as a detox. Just boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt,” he said. “Apparently it’s a cleanse… you must have lost weight.”

Pattinson continued, “Even if you’re just watching your calorie intake, it’s incredibly addictive — and you don’t realize how insidious it is until it’s too late.”

Pattinson’s next major film, “Mickey 17,” is set for release in March 2024 and is directed by “Parasite” filmmaker Bong Joon-ho.
