Sakamoto scores again
Celebrated composer Sakamoto Ryuichi (“The Last Emperor,” “Minamata”) was tapped to provide the scorethe monster,” the previously announced upcoming film by Japan Kore-eda Hirokazu (“Shoplifter”). The film has been in post-production since November last year, but only now is the cast being unveiled. It includes Ando Sakura (“Shoplifter”), Nagayama Ita (“Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai”) and Tanaka Yuko (“Backwater”). Two child actors Kurokawa Soya and Hiragi Hinata were also revealed. The film, co-produced by Toho and Gaga, is set for release on June 2, 2023, making it a favorite to pick up. Cannes Festival In May.

Glory Goes Global
“Glory,” The latest Korean original series from Netflix Ranked third on the streamer’s global chart for non-English-language series. During the week from December 26, 2022 – January 1, 2023, the revenge drama received 25.1 million viewing hours. By the middle of that week, the show had launched on December 30, and according to a separate analysis by Flix Patrol, the show was the fifth most-watched show on Netflix that day. The series, about a woman who seeks elaborate and belated revenge on former classmates who bullied her, ran for a total of 16 episodes.
